Wyne Greke (Middle English) refers to Greek Wine (according to the Hieatt and Butler Forme of Cury), a sweet wine that actually came from Italy. The Italian tradition of making "Greek" wine goes back to ancient times, when these wines were first made in imitation of Greek wine.
