A carnivorous mammal that looks like a large dog. A wolf is a moderately common heraldic charge.
Wolves hunt in hierarchical 'packs', led generally by an Alpha Male. Packs will establish their own territory and will normally only hunt outside this when in specific and immediate pursuit of a prey.
