The Three Musketeers is a book by Alexandre Dumas. The book was first published in 1844, and portrays post-medieval events, but with the magic of swashbuckling that initially interests so many in historical recreation.

This title is also given to the first of a trilogy of films starring Michael York, Oliver Reed, Richard Chamberlain, Frank Finlay and Charlton Heston. These films are amongst the favourites of many SCA fencers.

Other Films

Other popular films amongst the SCA include The Princess Bride and The Prisoner of Zenda. A less popular but more appropriate film is The Lion in Winter.
