An inauthentic SCA term which refers to the list field. Originally the rope surrounding the list field was nicknamed the Eric rope, because it's red (just like Eric the Red), and then this was extended to mean the entire list field. The Eric is the field upon a tournament is held, the area that is roped off upon which the fighters fight within.

According to SCA rules, if a person is pushed out of the list field 3 times during a bout, they forfeit that bout.
