The link that I just removed didn't come close to covering period German History (yes, I know it wasn't a single country during period). It may have been link spam - Tobin 08:17, 30 Jul 2004 (EST)

France had the same done to it. I'll roll that back too. Conrad Leviston 09:52, 30 Jul 2004 (EST)

I think these were both legit edits. Please see my comments on your talk pages. Sir Michael 14:12, 30 Jul 2004 (EST)

This is a wiki for information on the years 600 - 1600. No such information was contained in the links. That is why we thought the links may have been somebody trying to increase the number of links to their own webpage. Given that you were genuine about your attempt to help I'd like to apologise for any offense give. In any case hard information rather than simple links are always preferred. Yes the country pages are a little light on here, but we have all sorts of information about other things (heraldry, textiles, troubadours etc.). Conrad Leviston 15:18, 30 Jul 2004 (EST)
My apologies for appearing to operate like a spammer. I'll try to update Germany and France again in a more productive way. If my new attempts look good to you, I'll work on some of the other pages. If I get deleted again, I'll go away. Sir Michael 22:10, 30 Jul 2004 (EST)

Links

I'm sorry if I sound like I'm harping on this point, but this is basically in reply to what you have written about links on your user page. There is nothing wrong with links if used judiciously. Look at the page on France which you were so unimpressed with. Then look at the link you added. Which gives more information for the years 600-1600? That's why the links were initially deleted. I don't wish to cause further animosity so I'll personally be leaving those links there. Besides which the other contributions you've made have added to the quality of the site,so I'll let things rest.
