Actually, I think the 2 pronged fork is a falacy, as a personal eating implement. 2 pronged forks were used to carve food, but mostly no forks were used, or multiple (up to 7) prong forks were used in byzantium/by the rich in italy, etc. (not england till VERY late in period).
