"1424 The English king James I, bans football and golf as they are perceived to be interferring with archery practise."

There's something wrong with this statement - the year, country and king's name don't agree.(neither for James I nor James II)[[User:Tiff|Tiff]]

Looking at it you are right. I shall have to go back to find the original reference. It may simlpy have been the Scottish James I.--[[User:User 144|User 144]] 22:24, 8 October 2006 (EST)
