Sugar is a white crystalline solid that is commonly used as a sweetener in food production, and as an additive is drinks such as tea and coffee.

Sugar was somewhat expensive in period and honey was the preferred sweetener for many dishes.

Production

Sugar is made from sugar cane by a refining process.

The major sugar producing countries are countries with warm climates, such as Australia, Brazil, and Thailand.
