Siegfried von Kulmbach was the victor in the first Crown Tournament held for the Kingdom of Northshield, held on May 8, 2004 in the Barony of Windhaven. Inspired by Bridei nic Gillechattan, he bested Count Tarrach Alfson in the finals, having lost only one bout that day. He was crowned King by his own hand on October 16, 2004 in the Shire of Silfren Mere.
Siegfried has been in the SCA for over 20 years, receiving his Award of Arms on May 18, 1985 in the Middle Kingdom. He was knighted November 9, 1996, and was invested as the third Prince of the Principality of Northshield on June 28, 1997. He received his County on April 9, 2005.
On May 13, 2006, Siegfried was victorious in the Fifth Crown of Northshield, for the honor of Viscountess Gwyneth Felton. He defeated Viscount Hrodir Viageirr Toreson. On September 16, 2006, they ascended to the Griffin Thrones.
Siegfried is the head of House Kulmbach, a combat-oriented household of Northshield. Shown below at Fighter School XV, King Siegfried teaches a class on two-sword combat technique, his favoured style. The photo was taken during his first reign.
