In SCA Heraldry, certain charges are not permitted, owing to offensive connotations, historical presumption, or modern trademark infringement.
These Restricted Charges include (but are not limited to):
- Red Cross couped
- Swastikas
- A Flaming Cross
- Triskelions Gammadon
- The Tudor rose

Some charges that were formerly restricted, such as Pentagrams and Pentacles, are now permitted for use in SCA heraldry.
The official list is small, but it does not mean a charge or emblazon not on the list won't be rejected for similar problems.
