Real Life

Real Life is all the stuff that happens in between events. Occasionally the term is used in the sense of a recurring disease ("I couldn't make it to Coronation, I had an attack of Real Life"), and sometimes it's just an obstacle ("Real Life got in the way of me getting to figher practice"). Generally, Real Life is the given reason that someone doesn't make it to an event or meeting where they were expected.

Sometimes, in the US, Real Life is given a trademark symbol ("Real Life^tm").
