A medieval quartermaster was a sailor who is responsible for the storage, use and distribution of equipment and stock, including sails and signalling. Out-of-period it extended to other meanings.

Quartermasters in the SCA

Some SCA groups have an officer known as the quartermaster who cares for and distributes, upon request, group supplies. This can be things as mundane as a road sign with SCA and an arrow printed on it up to a large pavilion or royal regalia.
