Oertha is a Principality of the Kingdom of the West consists geographically of mainland Alaska.

It was originally known as the Region of the North, and was part of the Principality of An Tir. When An Tir petitioned for Kingdom status, the Northern Region wished to retain its loyalty to West. An Tir became a Kingdom in its own right, and the Northern Region became known as the Northern Marches.

The Northern Marches then petitioned to become a Principality under the name Oertha. Oertha is the name of the "Guardian of the North", an angel mentioned in the apocraphyal Questions of Bartholomew. Oertha became a Crown Principality in A.S. XVII and a full Principality in A.S. XIX.

The Arms of the Principality are: Azure, a wolf sejant, head erect (ululant/howling), between in chief two compass stars and on a base argent, a laurel wreath azure.
