The Picts are a group of peoples living in Scotland in Roman and early medieval times. Similar in culture to the Celts, they constructed monumental stellae similar to the Viking runestones. They were said by legend to cover their bodies in paint or tattoos. Their culture was eroded and absorbed by the Dalriadaic Scots, and, because they left behind no written records, only enigmatic carvings, it has been lost to the modern era.
