Phlegmatic is a temperament of the four humours, corresponding to phlegm. A person who is calm and unemotional is referred to as phlegmatic. It is related to the element water, and is considered cold and moist. Phlegmatic people were believed to be inclined towards rheumatism and illnesses involving mucus.
