People in the SCA can be categorised according to their experience, roles and ranks.

Anyone new(ish) to the Society.

Knights - Outstanding fighters who exemplify the ideals of chivalry and noble demeanor.
Laurels - personages whom have obtained a high level of 'period' research in the Arts and Sciences of yester year.
Pelicans - Super Helpers: Q. how many pelicans does it take to change a light globe? A. One.. "but don't worry.. *I'LL* do it..."
Members of the Order of Defense - Outstanding rapier fighters, who exemplify the PLQS
