Newfoundland is part of the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador on the east coast of Canada. It is the location of the Norse archaeological site L'Anse aux Meadows, which places European discovery of America 500 years before the arrival of Columbus. Later European settlement began with the arrival of John Cabot in 1497. Newfoundland is part of the East Kingdom and there is an SCA group in St. Johns.
