Newcastle or Newcastle-upon-Tyne is a port city in northern England at the eastern end of Hadrian's Wall. Its first recorded mayor was appointed in 1216. The first sheriff was elected in 1400 when Newcastle became a county.

It is home to the SCA Barony of Mordenvale, the college of St Crispins as well as the Fire and Steel re-enactment group (and its associated sub groups, Kingmakers and Collonell Manus O'Cahan's Regiment of Foote) and the Huscarls Saxon re-enactment group.
