The terms M'Lord and M'Lady are generic forms of address in the SCA. They are part of speaking forsoothly. You can use M'lord or M'lady to address gentles of any rank or no rank at all - it is always polite. When in doubt of someone's rank, you can never go wrong with this form of address.
