The Marshal's Handbook is a Society level document that dictates the minimum level of equipment and conduct for SCA combat. Individual kingdoms may add to these requirements in their kingdom marshal's handbook, but they may not reduce them. General conventions of combat are also defined in the Society Document.
Note that the Society Earl Marshal is responsible for *all* combat activities in the SCA and there are, therefore, Marshal's Handbooks for each class of activity.
