The term living history refers to a broad group of activities involving recreating culture, activities, and living conditions of people from a particular time and place in history.

Recreationist groups like the SCA can be considered living history. Historic sites that staff re-enactors for educational purposes are also living history. How much creativity is too much to be considered living history is vague and probably depends on how serious your re-enactment groups is.
