Lamellar

Lamellar is a type of armour made of plates that overlap in two directions, the direction that you have the lamellar overlapping differs if you are on foot or on horse back.

Lamellar can be made of a variety of different products, mainly leather or steel, it is a good trade off between protection and mobility.
