Kittyhawk is another term for a winged cat, as in the arms of the Barony of Windmasters Hill. While blazoning, the term is used interchangably with "a winged cat."
The Kittyhawk is not so much an SCA-only heraldic device as a local pun. The Barony of Windmasters Hill encompasses the area where the Wright Brothers made their famous first flight.
