Isabella (variously also known as Avice or Advisa, Hawise, Joan and Eleanor) was the daughter of William, Earl of Gloucester.

In 1189CE she married Prince John, Count of Mortain. From 1199 she became Queen Consort of England, but their marriage was childless.

They divorced in 1200 (so that John could marry Isabella of Angouleme), and Isabella retired to esates in Berkhamstead, and later married the justiciar Geoffrey fitzPeter.

After his death, in 1213, she married Hubert de Burgh, also justiciar.
