A bushy herb, growing to about 40 - 60cm, native to Southern Europe. There are three varieties which grow either red, blue or white flowers, which are used to make an infusion, and it is an ideal herb to use as a border for a garden. An infusion of the leaves is used as a stimulant, a carminative and also in asthma relief. The leaves, when bruised and applied directly to cuts, will assist healing. An infusion of the leaves is used to relieve muscular rheumatism.
