Hamlets are a type of unofficial group which is unique to Lochac. As such they have no formal recognition in Corpora, but might be considered as a step between a Household and an official group such as a Canton or Shire. The idea is to provide small groups with some form of recognision without the reporting requirements that can lead to difficulty in filling the officers. They can register a name and device, and recieve group awards. For the full details, see the external link below.
