sitbasc A goose is a two-legged winged animal that is a member of the water fowl species. It makes a 'honk' sound rather than a 'quack' (like a duck).

These birds are also bigger and more aggressive than ducks. For that reason, they sometimes work well as guards. Goose feathers make good quills and were often used as fletching.

It should be noted that goose feathers acquired from a commercial supplier seem to have been treated to remove the natural oils in the feather and tend to come apart more readily.
