Line 1: Line 1:
A '''float''' is the term for a [[thread]] that appears on the surface of some [[weaving]] and spans over multiple rows. If a float gets too long without being anchored into the weaving somehow, it can get too loose and catch on things. A float can be surreptitiously stitched into place on the surface of the band, but this will still often show.
