Erasmus (1469? - 1536) was one of the greatest thinkers of his day.

Erasmus was a great scholar of humanism and a protagonist of the Renaissance throughout Europe. He was in great demand in all of the courts and universities of Europe.

His best known work is The Praise of Folly.

Erasmus was devoted in his studies of the Latin language, the revision of Christianity and scholasticism, and the revision of the educational system of his day, through studies of humanism.
