Eoforwic (pronounced "Efferwick", more or less) is a Canton of the SCA Barony of Septentria in the Kingdom of Ealdormere. It is located in metropolitan Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and centred around the University of Toronto. Although officially a canton, it enjoys the unique designation of Royal Citie.
A famous set of document in Ealdormere are the Chronicles of Eoforwic, which detail the history of the Royal Citie (and therefore of the SCA in Ontario) from its earliest days.
The City is protected by the Royal City Guard, comprised of the Guardsmen of Eoforwic (armoured combatants) and the Night Watch (fencers).
A common saying in Ealdormere is "Everything you've heard about Eoforwic is true."
Recently, a rousing drinking song called "It's Good to Be Us", has been written by Master Hector of the Black Height, making that same phrase a very popular catchall in Eoforwic. This song has been made the unofficial anthem with its rousing chorus,
It's good to be us, yes it's good to be us. We are the Royal Citie, what's left to discuss?
