In heraldry, a line which is drawn embatted is made up of a series of square projections, and looks like the battlements of a castle. On any two edged ordinary with a horizontal component, (fess, chevron and bend), only the chiefmost line is embattled.

Counterembattled

If one wishes embattling on both the chiefmost and basemost lines, then the ordinary is blazoned embattled counterembattled.
