The Kingdom of East Anglia was formed in 520 CE, and occupied the position of the modern English counties of Norfolk and Suffolk. It is one of the seven kingdoms of Anglo-Saxon England, known collectively as The Heptarchy.

Despite being perhaps the pre-eminent British kingdom at one time in the 7th century, it was soon to be eclipsed by Mercia.
