Dying - it's the last thing that you'll do. The art of dying is certainly older than that of weaving - it involves the transition from being alive, to being dead. It's one of the few activities that is documentably period in all cultures - absolute authenticity in this activity is not recommended.

Dying in the SCA

"Dying" in the SCA is limited to the various forms of SCA combat. Knowing when you're dead is one of the most important qualities for a fighter. Dying during SCA combat can be elevated to an art form - there are often prizes for the best death during tournaments. It gratifies your opponent, and entertains the audience. Don't make it into too huge a production, as it easily becomes irritating.
