  • Cryspes. Ms. Ed. No. 26. Cryppys, meaning Crisps, Chaucer having crips, by transposition, for crisp. In Kent p is commonly put before the s, as haps is hasp, waps is wasp. V. Junius. V. Happs, and Haspe, and Wasp.
