[[Ian Mitchell of Clan Mitchell]] and [[Katherine Gillesfleur]] have been the Viceroy and Vicereine of Ostgardr for almost 27 years, starting in [[1979]]. History
The Crown Province of Ostgardr encompasses the 5 boroughs of New York City (Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens and Staten Island) as well as Nassau County and Westchester and Putnam counties. It is the original home of the East Kingdom, since when some SCA folks moved east about 1968 or so, they settled in New York.
Ostgardr is the only Crown Province in the East Kingdom, and it is a province rather than a barony because the early kings of the East mostly lived in or around New York City. Geography
The province has 3 cantons within it and one incipient canton as of this writing. Lion's End encompasses Nassau County, Long Island; Northpass encompasses Westchester and Putnam counties north of the city limits; Whyt Whey is the island of Manhattan; and Brooklyn has the incipient canton of Brokenbridge.
