Clergy refers to the ordained members of the church, usually the Catholic Church.

Clergy in the SCA

Roleplaying clergy in the SCA is delicate due to the Society's policy on religion. However it is still possible. It needs to be done accurately and respectfully to both enrich the experience of all while not offending the sensibilities of others. Monks and Nuns are the most common choice in the SCA. A true belief in the beliefs of your persona is unimportant. Roleplaying is only acting and should be regarded as separate from real-life, just as oaths of fealty do not extend into mundane life.
