A Chain of Fealty is a plain, undecorated chain usually worn as a necklace, but occasionally as a small chain hanging from a badge. It shows that the person has sworn fealty. It is not considered proper for any person who hasn't sworn fealty to wear a plain chain, since it would be confusing.

In the SCA it is more common for Peers to wear these chains than the general populace. The Order of Chivalry often prefer chains made of large links. Many of these links have been passed down from other peers so they have "history".
