Caraway is a herb whose seed is used for flavouring.

Caria is an herbe called Caraway, it hath leves lyke somewhat to fenell, and a long stalke & round sede; more then the sede of persley. The vertue of hym is that he dystroyeth wycked wyndes and the coughe, & heleth men that hath the frensy, and bytynge [bitten] with venemous beestes...
