Cannons are gunpowder fuelled projectile weapons. Invented by the Chinese during the 2nd millennium, they made their way to Europe by the 14th century. The term had come to be used excusively to large examples of this weapon by the 15th century.

- demi-cannon
- culverin
- saker
- falconet
