The term '''Cadet''' is often used in the [[SCA]] to refer to a person who has formally entered into a student/teacher relationship with a member of the [[order]] of the [[White Scarf]].  The relationship may be considered as loosely analagous to that of [[Knight]] and [[Squire]].

In some [[Kingdom]]s which have not signed the White Scarf treaty, the term is used for the same type of relationship between student fencers and members of that Kingdom's fencing order.  This is the case in the [[East Kingdom]] for instance, with the [[Order of the Golden Rapier]].
