A butcher's glove is a glove made woven with rings of stainless steel. When worn on the hand, it gives protection against slices. Butchers commonly wear them in their profession, hence the name.

They are not suitable for combat lacking both mass and blow absorption properties, although they may provide reasonable protection against a rapier (cf. rapier parrying gauntlet). They were not used in period.
