According to Thoinot Arbeau in Orchesography, a double right as performed in the Burgundian Branle consists of a pied droit largi, a pied gauche approché, another pied droit largi, and either a grève gauche or a pied en l'air gauche. In other words, a step to the right, a step onto the left bringing the feet almost together, a step to the right, and then a forward kick with the left leg while bouncing on the right.
