The bunny round is a shield that appears to be unique to the SCA. It has the top half of a square and the bottom half of a circle. Its diameter is usually only a little larger than the fighter's forearm.

It is useful in SCA tournament combat due to its small size offering both manouveurability and visibility to the user. Although it is almost impossible to block a sword stroke below the knees with a bunny round, this is not a drawback to SCA combat, as below the knees is not a legal target area.

Interestingly, shields of this shape appear in heraldic shields of the 15th century.
