The Award of Arms, often shortened to AoA, is an SCA society level award (ie. it carries from kingdom to kingdom). It bestows the recipient with the 'right' to display their arms and to put the title Lord or Lady in front of their SCA name.

As the lowest society award, it is not hard to earn. It is commonly bestowed upon those who the Crown or Coronet find has enriched the quality of the Game for others. This could range from working in the kitchen at major feasts, always helping clean-up after events, helping to train others in combat or arts and sciences, to greatly adding to the medieval atmosphere at events. Help the Dream and you will be noticed.... eventually.
