Something's armorial bearings is the composition of its heraldic device. Less commonly, if something is armorial then it relates to armour.
An armorial is also a document that discusses heraldry and devices. When capitalized, the Armorial for the SCA refers to the encyclopedic listing of all registered names and armory.
