Alcoholic infusion is a method of making liqueurs by macerating ingredients such as herbs, spices, and fruit in alcoholic spirit and allowing it to steep. When the flavours have penetrated the alcoholic liquid, the herbs, fruit, etc., are discarded and the resulting liqueur matured before drinking.
