Games might be played after supper for entertainment.
- Chess - generally played on a larger table sized board on trestles or the floor. The queen moved like a bishop. (Holmes 1952, 43)
- Draughts - similar to modern checkers (Holmes 1952 p43)
- Tables - a kind of backgammon, played on a board with dice. (Holmes 1952, p43)
