Altea

This herbe is called Holyhocke or the wyld Mallow, the vertu of this herbe is thus, take and stampe it and frye it with shepes talow & make a playster and laye it to the Goute & it shall helpe him within thre dayes by experiment all Juctors do saye and affirme that this herbe soden with Vineger & linsede, & a plaister made therof, and layde to the syde of any person, it departeth & helpeth yll gatheringes that be engendered in a mans body, this herbe groweth in gardens & moyst places.
