I moved this to discussion - or "bear pits" - I've never heard of a bear pit as a last man standing melee. Is this a regional usage of some kind? Bear pit where I've seen it, is a single or small group of fighters with a line feeding new fighters into the list as the previous match is resooled. It's a tourney format rather than a melee format.
