Smalls is SCA jargon for a child or Minor. It is also a 19th Century English word for underclothes.
The exact word "smalls" is not medeival, however the plural form "smale" or "smalle" appears to be a medieval way of referring to children (as well as occasionally other small things). http://slumberland.org/sca/articles/smalls.html
